Cartref Lake Road East

Cartref Lake Road East is situated opposite Roath Park Lake and from the lounges and patio, residents can sit and enjoy magnificent views of the lake and wildlife.

All 34 residents have their own private room, some will have en-suite facilities. Additionally, there are 2 large lounges and 1 small lounge, where residents can watch T.V. or listen to music, read, and also take morning coffee and afternoon tea.

Our residents are encouraged to use our lovely gardens and go for walks around the lake, accompanied by relatives or Care Staff.

Our very experienced kitchen team caters to special diets such as diabetic, vegetarian or cultural needs in addition to trying to accommodate all individual requirements, wherever practical.

Residents have regular meetings with the kitchen team to identify their likes and dislikes, and birthdays. Special occasions are celebrated with cake or gateaux.

Cartref Station Road is situated in the village of Llanishen, on the northern fringes of Cardiff. Many of the residents enjoy the leisurely 300-metre walk to the village to do their shopping.

The home has the facility for 47 residential rooms as well as a refurbished wing: The Tanner suite, which has 9 residential E.M.I rooms.

There are 2 lounge areas and conservatory, dining room and a separate smoking area on the ground floor. There are 4 lifts in the buildings that serve the 3 floors. All 56 residents have their own private rooms, some of which are en-suite.

The home has a full time Activities Co-ordinator who offers the residents a range of indoor and outdoor activities designed to encourage independence and confidence, not to mention having plenty of fun as well.

Our very experienced kitchen team caters to special diets, such as diabetic, vegetarian or cultural needs in addition to trying to accommodate all individual requirements, wherever practical. Regular consultations are held with the residents to discuss likes and dislikes. Birthdays are celebrated with a personal birthday cake or gateaux prepared by one of our chefs, likewise any special occasion can be celebrated in consultation with the home manager.
